Dubai – The Light Middle East events and showcase, organized by Messe Frankfurt, took place in Dubai between 17 and 19 October. The regionˈs dedicated trade show for the lighting design and technology industry featured 370 exhibitors from 31 countries at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, and drew in 6,645 visitors from 84 countries. The Light Middle East Conference, alongside the Exhibition, showcases high profile lighting designers, architects, developers, and experts who shared their insights into the rich world of architectural lighting and design.
According to CSIL expert Mauro Spinelli, the majority of players expect positive development in 2018. Expo 2020 creates exciting medium terms perspectives. On the other hand, the lighting fixtures market in the Gulf Countries remains challenging because of the tough competition and the declining prices. In addition, political instability (relations with Qatar and Saudi Arabia conflict with Yemen) adds further concerns for the business development in the region, which hasn’t fully recovered yet.
CSIL conducted an in-depth analysis of the lighting fixtures market in Middle East and North Africa. The report is available here.
